Q/SERV 2000 typically utilizes the Microsoft SQL
Server compatible Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE). However,
Microsoft SQL Server can be used instead. Automatic file import/export is
used to share data with Q/SERV Enterprise and corporate databases.
Q/SERV Enterprise works with its own dedicated database and/or with
direct access to an external corporate database. Ideally, existing data
types such as employee profiles are directly accessed on the external
corporate database. If that is not possible, then automatic file/import
procedures are used to share data. The database(s) can be Microsoft SQL
Server or Oracle.
