Q/SERV employs an up-to-date component oriented architecture. Advantages
include simplified system maintenance and automatic load balancing across server machines.
Each Q/SERV component together with a Q/SERV database or an external database forms a usable application. Typically, Q/SERV components are selected to form a fully integrated scheduling system and/or an integrated time and attendance system.
However, individual components may be used to speed internal development or to supply specialized functionality such as scheduling. Conversely, an external module may be used in lieu of the Q/SERV counterpart. For example, an existing corporate forecasting system can be used instead of the Q/SERV forecaster.
